Our lifestyle is a major contributing factor of our health and wellness. We can eat healthy foods but fail to cultivate meaningful relationships which will leave us lacking and lead to illness.
Several of the major lifestyle factors are:
Activity – engaging in physical movement. We need to give our bodies the opportunity to be challenged physically. Activity is essential for mental and emotional processes.
Hydration – every process in the body requires water but many people don’t drink enough each day. There is a module in the Healthy Foundations Collection on the importance of water. At times, we can drink a lot of water but it is not the right quality or the body can’t process it properly.
Nutrition – the food we eat must be varied and of high quality, natural ingredients. Unfortunately, a large amount of what we consume is full of chemicals and comes from sources that are depleted of vitamins and minerals.
Fellowship – we were created for belonging and human connection so when we lack meaningful opportunities to fellowship with one another, our health will be severely impacted. Being with other people who are good for hearts and souls can do more than we realize!
Rest/Sleep – often the most overlooked influencer of our health. Taking a weekly sabbath rest and getting a good evening sleep is often the least expensive thing we can do to greatly impact our well-being. There is a module in the Healthy Foundations Collection on this topic.
