Pathogens

In the common vernacular most of us say, germ or bug, but let’s dig a little bit deeper and define them further.

The major categories are bacteria, parasite and fungus. Within those categories, however, there are many subclasses and sometimes a pathogen can cross between categories.  Pathogens are the most well known causes of illness but they are nothing to fear. Our bodies have been created to recognize and fight off these invaders; if we keep our bodies clean and well supported it will be able to defend against them!

The biggest problem we have with pathogens is when we are already toxic or worn out and our bodies can’t do what they have to do OR the pathogens we are exposed to have been altered or weaponized so that there is no way for our bodies to deal with them. Weaponized pathogens will be addressed in a different module.

Here is a short video about pathogens. It only covers single cell type parasites, so don’t forget those are out there too. For more information on each individual category, see the corresponding module.  **Also, we do not believe viruses are organisms or pathogens, we will cover that separately!
